EDITORIAL: The Anti-Gay Index on The Gay Report

The Gay Report Editorial Board announces the addition of the anti-gay index located on the front page of thegayreport.net.

The board has decided to make this new addition as a valued resource for informational, educational, and research purposes. After an initial study conducted with several members of the LGBT community and allies of the LGBT community the board has found that only 1 in 6 people that were surveyed actually knew the names and the existence of any anti-gay groups.

After these findings were made clear, the board then decided to add the "Anti-Gay Index" located on the front page of this site in the bottom right column. This index includes a list of known groups and websites who have published defamatory and hateful materials and/or are operated by persons who have published or stated such content in their capacities as such operators.

Though such websites on the index contain material deemed offensive and hurtful, the board feels that it is important for the community at large to be aware of these websites and organizations.

From time to time the board will update the index as new information is received.
